Frere Jacques - Progressive Variations for Guitar (Theme and Variations 1 - 4) by Kevin Love
As a teacher, I have found that students thrive on the familiar. Here is a way to capitalize on that enthusiasm by using well-known tunes to gradually introduce typical guitar techniques and textures in a progressive way. "Songs of Childhood", Book 1, contains similar treatment of five melodies: Vol. 1 - Themes and Var. 1 - 4; Vol. 2 - Var. 5 - 9. There is also a version of this score with Tab. Songs of Childhood - Progressive Variations for Guitar (Book 1, Volume 1) by Kevin Love
As a teacher, I have found that beginning students thrive on the familiar. Here is a way to capitalize on that enthusiasm by using well-known tunes to gradually introduce typical guitar techniques and textures in a progressive way. This collection is meant to be learned in layers, i.e., learn all the themes, then all variations 1, etc.. The themes and variations are also published individually for "Frere Jacques", "Ode to Joy", "Old MacDonald", "This Old Man" and "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star". ...
Trio
Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring (Trio) by J. S. Bach arr. Kevin Love
A piece that needs no introduction. You can achieve a very dramatic effect if you have another instrument double the hymn melody (Guitar 1) during the chorale interludes. Enjoy! Visit Kevin's web site @ www.Music4ClassicalGuitar.com...

London Trios - No. 1 by J. Haydn
Good clean fun from Papa Haydn. Visit Kevin's web site at www.Music4ClassicalGuitar.com...
Villano by G. Sanz arr. Kevin Love
This is a trio realization of a vihuela ( an early cousin of the guitar) piece by the 17th century Spaniard Gaspar Sanz. I have avoided the temptation to "plump it up" so that the simple charm of Sanz' music is maintained and to keep it accessible to as many guitarists as possible. The dynamics and colour changes are editorial; the ornaments are from Sanz' manuscript. Visit Kevin's web site at www.Music4ClassicalGuitar.com...

“Songs of Childhood”
Songs of Childhood was born from a desire to use familiar music to introduce basic classical guitar technique to students and comes from many years of teaching and developing material for students. Five tunes (Frère Jacques, Ode to Joy, Old MacDonald, This Old Man and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star) are presented in a variation form using typical guitar textures and figurations to progress from very basic to intermediate levels and beyond.
